Explore Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

More and more people come to stay in beautiful villas for rent in Cap Ferrat every summer holiday season.

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is a prestigious seaside resort located 10 kilometers east of Nice. This location has been dubbed “Found Paradise” because Cap Ferrat is the most “snobbish” of all the places on the Côte d’Azur. Its 15-kilometer coastline is dotted with luxurious villas, secluded coves, beaches, and lush vegetation. In Saint-Jean, both luxury yachts and simple fishing boats dock.

Cap Ferrat: what to do?

Walking along one of the public trails is one way to appreciate the beauty of Cap Ferrat. The most beautiful, which connects Plage de Paloma to Pointe St-Hospice and offers panoramic views of the French Riviera, is the one that connects Plage de Paloma to Pointe St-Hospice.

You can also take a stroll through Saint-Jean, a bustling fishing village filled with bars, restaurants, and hotels.

Villa Rothschild and Ile-de-France Museum

The Rothschild Villa and Ile-de-France Museum is housed in the legendary villa Eprussi de Rothschild. Baroness Ephrussi de Rothschild designed it. She married a Hungarian banker and father’s friend, about whom even a museum curator knows little. She passed away in 1934, leaving the Italianate villa and its gardens to the Institut de France on behalf of the Academy of Fine Arts.

The Villa Rothschild Museum houses the baroness’ extensive collection, which includes 18th-century furniture, Tiepolo ceilings, Savonnerie carpets, carved panels from the Far East, Gobelin tapestries from Aubusson and Beauvais, drawings by Fragonard, paintings by Boucher, Sevsky porcelain, and other items. You can see statue fragments from churches, monasteries, and palaces in the villa’s extensive garden. A section of the garden is dedicated to a cactus collection.
